We are excited to introduce to you our newest board member, Bradford Sledge! Here is a little about Bradford and his why behind saying “yes” to be a part of the Board of Re:new Project!
Bradford Sledge loves learning and along the journey of life obtained a civil engineering degree from the University of Texas, a Master of Divinity from Alliance Theological Seminary and an MBA from Wharton. Since 1997, Bradford has worked for RLG International, a firm that focuses on driving measurable bottom-line results through effective management systems, leadership development, empowered employees, and a front-line that is connected to the bottom line. Bradford leads teams of management consultants that engage clients for 12 to 24 month assignments.
Bradford and his wife Melinda live in Wheaton, Illinois, and are a part of Wheaton Bible Church. They have three grown children and 3 grandchildren. Bradford loves to play disc golf and is well on his way to playing in all 50 states as well as a few courses outside the US. We recently asked Bradford a few questions about joining the Re:new team!
How did you first hear of Re:new Project?
I heard about Re:new through my wife Melinda doing volunteer work there. Melinda and I have always had a passion for welcoming and serving those who are from other cultures and backgrounds, dating all the way back to volunteering with an international students ministry in college. Melinda was drawn to the community that Re:new creates with the artisans and the mission to love them in Jesus' name.
What inspired you to join the Re:new Project Board?
Since Re:new is a ministry to women, it is not something I can easily be deeply involved in. By being on the board I am able to join my wife in a ministry she feels deeply called to so that we can work side-by-side to serve and love refugee women. I feel honored to be a part of this ministry and hope that my experiences and knowledge will provide a helpful contribution.
We are so grateful to Bradford and Melinda and their willingness to volunteer with Re:new. Our organization is better because of their combined dedication to helping refugee women thrive. We look forward to Bradford bringing his wisdom and experience to our board to further our work and our mission. Welcome, Bradford!
