Dim and her husband fled violence in her home country of Burma and were resettled in Chicago five years ago. Dim was sewing before she came to Re:new. She and her friends made clothes for each other and their children. Dim loves her friends at Re:new and her new ideas for fashion.
Dim has three children and one of them, Helen, gave us a little taste of what her mom loves to do. She says:
"My mom wants to focus on making traditional Burmese clothing while doing any other alterations from clients. She might do a collaboration with my aunt back in Burma and ordered materials from them. She also can sew anything when seeing a picture of how it looks like."
Dim's creativity is amazing. Like her daughter said, she can simply look at a picture of clothing and recreate it. Above are pictures of an outfit she made. Stop by the store today to see how beautiful it is in person!
