In honor of World Refugee Day, Re:new is raising $9,000, which is $1,000 in honor of each of the nine Artisans in our program.
World Refugee Day Celebration
According to the United Nations, there are more than 22 million refugees who are displaced throughout the world. Re:new is stepping in the gap to support refugee women in the Chicagoland area, providing them with the resources they need to grow and thrive. More than 30,000 refugees have settled in Chicago and surrounding neighborhoods since 2002, according to the Chicago Tribune, and Re:new is doing our part in providing hope, employment, and empowerment for the women in our neighborhoods who want to participate in our programs. Re:new operates a sewing studio and storefront in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, and we provide employment for refugee women who have survived war, persecution, or political conflict and resettled in the United States. They have found new life within our studio walls where they handcraft products made from upcycled textiles.
On June 20th, we will be celebrating World Refugee Day, and we want you to join us! In honor of the nine amazing Artisans that are employed at Re:new, we are seeking to raise $9,000 for the organization. Your donation enables Re:new to invest in the professional and personal development of refugee women resettled in the U.S.A., allowing them to earn a sustainable income in a safe, supportive, and caring community.
Will you donate to support our efforts in raising $9,000? We are so grateful for your support!
